Fritz and I are back from our trek to North Dakota. All in all it was a good trip and we had a good time. Fritz unfortunately learned his first prairie barbed wire lesson the second day we were in the field. Followed by a trip to the vet and a few stitches he was good as new in a few days. He didn’t get to hunt as much as either of us would have liked but there will be many more trips in the future. The prairie is a special place. For any of you that haven’t made the trip I encourage you to do so.
We did make time to stop by and see Gary at Dakota Wirehairs. It was great to see him and I know Fritz enjoyed the visit back to his birthplace. As I have said before, anyone that is looking for an absolutely wonderful Wirehair should put Gary and Deb Arbach on their list. These folks love dogs and turn out wonderful companions and hunting buddies like Fritz every year. I am forever in their debt.
This weekend we will be heading to the Catskills of NY State in search of partridge. Details and photos to follow.
Take care and God Bless…
Fritz and Fred
